Due 3-28-2018Students create a video.  Instructions are on page 57 in text.  Work is done with a partner.  The text says it needs to be an ad for a candidate. You can create the ad for a candidate, product, charity, fundraiser, teaching, informational to shift beliefs, or challenge social norms.  Know who your audience is, and how you will know if your ad will be successful.  The ad needs a logo and a campaign slogan.  Students should take into account aspects of propaganda, appeal, and symbolism.

9th-Watch this video to more completely understand author's purpose.  We will continue our work in our texts.
 
11th-Close reading (annotate) Franklin's Speech in the Convention. Consider why Franklin chooses to illustrate his point in paragraph 1 by referring to a "certain French lady." What is the effect of this quotation? Write your thoughts on the bottom of page 44. We will continue this work in class.
