Mandarin II is a year-long college preparatory course in which students will learn and use speaking, reading, writing, listening skills in Mandarin. This course sharpens students’ interpersonal, interpretive and presentational communication skills. Each student will expand his/her vocabulary in Mandarin, increase his/her ability to manipulate Mandarin grammar, increase his/her ability to write using 拼音(pīnyīn) and Chinese characters, and compare and contrast cultural and linguistic differences between and among English, Mandarin, and other world languages and cultures. This course fulfills the Lake Elsinore Unified School District graduation requirement for foreign language/fine arts. This course meets UC/CSU (LOTE “e”) requirements.
