love everybody my name is mrs. leibold and I'm your child's pre-calculus teacher for this year let me show you around their canvas page I'm so this is that my precalculus homepage right here they can click either on the side or down here to access their assignments each week I will put out an announcement to the class believe I sent em all parents a parent Square on that one of the weeks but they can click on the week that were on or on week 7 and all the homework and agenda kind of laid out three the week so they can kind of know what's going on when the tests and quizzes are but they can get to their assignments through either the modules or the assignments I'm in the modules are organized week by week so we're in week 7 right now so here's the assignments for week 7 I have everything in there except for their their test their quiz the end of the week but friends since for today there is no I meant was to watch a video finishing up the notes and then to complete a homework assignment from the textbook so each each way still have all their assignments in their last week they had the test which is in there they also submit any time they take a test or quiz in class they also must admit their work a lot of times you know for any partial point you know I will grade their I'd grade directly from their work not necessarily what they typed in on the canvas test that's kind of their their test is more of like their third timer and to show the question by question is there working on it but they're really working in there no butt and then they send me a picture of their work at the end most assignments are let you know most book assignment are given at least two class days in order to so for instance you know Monday is assignments this 3.13.1 assignment from the textbook that will be due on Wednesday there Wednesday textbook assignment will be due on Fridays they have some extra time on there I would encourage especially through this distance learning that they're not just working from there to do less and waiting to the last minute to start assignments a lot of times after you know Simoniz take the time to go over questions in class so I want to encourage them to at least start their homework on the day that it's a sign so we have it so they have a chance and next day or two to ask questions as needed but that's to give them just a little bit of extra time on there so that's their assignments they can click on their graves their most updated braids are going to be canvas are synced and will be synced to Infinite Campus so you can see them as well but you can always ask them to pull up their grades in canvas for their most update grades for this class MyAccess there any any quizzes and tests a lot of times on an assignment call lineup to show you you know I will have you know if we go over notes in class I will upload the notes to that particular assignment and then I will also upload some videos for that sofa still stuck on some of the homework they can go look up those optional videos they can definitely go on you know YouTuber Khan Academy themselves you know to look up the topics but I like to have a couple in there like you know so it's available time to just click on when they get stuck ammo tests and quizzes students have been allowed a page of notes I definitely you know I really encouraged the stew this to do that page notes for the last test we just had a lot of information on that last test and then doing that page of notes ahead of time allows them to like you know go through Section by section 2 organize their material so that they're ready to go on test day so most of them they are allowed that one page of notes than kind of include anything they want on it tests and quizzes are not allowed to use you know any apps on their phone or help from anyone else and on the front page you can access the syllabus the bell schedule right to the announcements and the weekly modules and then the zoom link down here but they join for class now for precalculus I don't have any set office hours but yeah I've encouraged students to contact me I need some extra help I can be available after school they just have to check in with me ahead of time and so I make sure to open up the zoom link for them by the time any quizzes or tests makeup is if they miss the day taken after school once in a while they can be taken in class and then one other thing on if students ever miss a class today if they click into pages and they click on view all pages and then month by one month I have a page for all the zoom's I don't upload the days that we have but I'm anytime we're going over Contents I might take a minute or so to load May 10th we're going over content you know I'll upload the zoom by date on there so that they can access it if they miss class so please contact me so students will contact me through this inbox over here on the left side you can send me a message and it will also go to my inbox to so I get it in two different places so I will definitely know that they sent me a message you guys as parents you can contact me through parents Square so you will not have to login your child canvas page in order to contact me just go through parents Square is it one other thing I'm so for precalculus this year students do you need a graphing calculator and we have been kind of class learning how to use different features that graphing calculator if for some reason that they missed checking out a graphing calculator they can purchase one of their own they are very pricey I do recommend if you are get a perch on the TI-84 Plus but there's other graphing calculators available you know the ones that they check out from the school they can check out either a TI-83 there aren't as many TI-84 has to check out but they will need that the TI-83 as they do need batteries for that the batteries usually last a long time now. Sometimes last the whole school year I'm so don't think that's it's going to be a huge expense if you have to buy batteries for the calculator also if the battery is a calculator ever you know breaks down some of the eighty threes are very old for some reason it stops working you will have to go into school to check another one out and then for this semester is this algebra topics can a more like a you know what college algebra type of class little bit harder the second semester we do a lot of trigonometry which is kind of pretty much in a new remember a little bit of trigonometry from their country class second semester is where we slow down a little bit and you know we kind of focus on more of those those trick topics and that is it if you have any questions please don't hesitate to send me a message if you'd ever like to let you know me.
