good evening parents and welcome to Elsinore High School back to school night my name is Samantha lawlor I am the child's Algebra 2 teacher I wanted to go a few things so that way we know the expectations for this class you can see we are using Zoom this is what we use on a daily basis is the point where your child come in to check in and to ask we do a lot of the question-and-answer sessions so that way we make Clarity and again we want to make sure students are comfortable with what they are so what we're going to do is I'm going to go ahead and show you these homepage or class so when you are logging in the system age you would see this as my homepage I've made it so that way your child from self navigate through and on the first day when you met lies I walked in through the process and so on so this is my homepage student view if you were to squirrel. that have been made for convenience so that your childhood like clicked on she's me any of these to give them to to get them to what they looking for your weekly work is just your module that you are dumb through and so here we have our week which is organized backwards but this is week number six 9:14 and as you can see here it is dated as well as the date the cast of homework it also has a solution when we want to make sure students are able to use this to check their work sometimes the solutions are attached sometimes it's a nuisance are attached Within homework so you can see here this is the worksheet then here is the solutions it's a great way for them to refer to in case they are doing work and want to check for understanding it is worked out Solutions it's not just answers sometimes we will work it out sometimes we just put answers we want to make sure that students are learning and using these extra resources to help them understand what the expectations are navigating themselves through the the going back to the module you can see here again it is organized by leak we have Monday we have Tuesday on the right hand side check marks to tell you that the child or your child has already done the work and have submitted or has watched the videos and is ready to move on what's really cool about how this is set up not only by date but if you were to click on the homework and you're done with this homework there is no need to go back to the module you can click on next button will take you to the next assignment that is ready so in this case this was a mini so many practice tests that we did just so that way we can prepare ourselves for for our upcoming chests so the next button is a way for you to navigate through the weeks that way what expectations do we have most of our tests and quizzes are usually set for Fridays because it's in culminating process Friday is the end of that we want to make sure that they have enough information as well as time to prepare for Friday so that way they don't have to worry about it over the weekend and prepare for the me work as we move on remember though that math is a progressive building blocks of information so as much as for learning block one we still need block ones alphas and block 2 and Black 3 and so on and Algebra 2 would you expect a lot from our students because it is Google Maps and as you can see here there's a lot of information but again we do take the time to go over these with them we often do near pause with them if necessary and we also provide videos for them in order for them this is what you look like again this module clicking on this module is the same as clicking on the weekly Works down here in this but in the resource page I'm still currently work on this however I do have the notes that we have taken in class up on the dates that we have taken them so you can see here the dates are there is there are no no none and as you can see we have chased we have notes all the way through and then of course continuing on and then all the way we didn't have any for this week because we were just doing a lot of review the salt and tired and there were some that we did life so this would be under your resource button on the homepage in addition to that the homepage we also have the helpful videos now I know there's a better way to Dudley upload the videos but in the meantime I'm do what I can to try and upload and cheap things parents so right now I'm up Lotus you the future ones are ready but you can see here there are some videos that are still kind of waiting to go through and then there are some videos that we don't have live videos on there just actual pre recordings or they are at puzzles or they are just regular links that you can just navigate through in order for you to find information I need to learn the concept for that to be helpful video is organized by dates in backwards process where the most current dates will be in the homepage this is where the zoom buttons would be for. 122 and it's kind of cut off your but this is a tutoring button I have tutoring jobs on Tuesdays and Thursdays but now that it's difficult to tutor two different subjects at once I usually prefer to have my algebra 2 students on Mondays Wednesdays and algebra 1B tuesday-thursday however it is not set in stone so students can definitely request when appointments on specific days if they need that extra help that would be here over here is hard to see I don't know why it's blocking but we also have my syllabus we've made some adjustments I did send out on parent Square as well as the inbox here to your child of the changes they made Infamous arcade percent play presents which is a No-No for now this is our new blank percent as you can see we saw a lot of our homework because we want to make sure students are actually doing homework prepare them for the top as you thought your homework solutions attached to them because they definitely use that as a way of reassuring their learning and to make sure that they're doing the work completely and correct and that's you can see we've met some of Jessie because we are not going to have a final in a separate category if we do give a final that's mentioned in the letter that was sent out it will be under the test category instead that's the change that was made on Yahoo syllabus for the syllabus at now updated and Sophie go back to the home button I think I've completely covered it the weekly report resources helpful video syllabus to zoom as a 2 on the regular navigational left side here you can see the modules which was Bi weekly work use the grace here if you click on the glaze you can monitor yourself to see what is happening and what scores are getting it is organized in a chronological process starting from the beginning of when we started doing work and it just goes through as you can see the dates are in twisting and time up until where we are that way you can see what your progress is and someone if 0 which is the same thing as missing cousin is an external resource it doesn't say missing it so just come back as soon as this is not the same as a syllabus that was in the homepage just so this is just a horse summary what we have done so far is the date is the word is the due dates as well as the category what the weight is for the category 4 thumbs up to 100% that's what this button does I've also have fewest Office 365 for students email however the best way to email on canvas which is a lot easier to just type right in without having to go into your account and then trying to find your email teachers email and then sending it I also have here is the clever Clover has a lot the external resources out there that you can use again we haven't really touched so many of them yes as of a few days we will be using Big Ideas you Infinite Campus is also on here decimals graphing calculator that we use Quizlet we have definitely use the earlier when it comes to studying about the Transformations we have definitely done a lot of bills that you don't need to use this link when you click on to your ex there is no anymore it is just here from my page this is my page on Clever yours will look different and have less of these items however again this is where your extra resources would be it is also the resource button on your homepage as well so many different spots that you can go to in order for you to navigate to the process here is your assignment buttons that your sisters find his list and then the button for you to check in on canvas if you would want to do so on your own and so we use canvas this is where your grades would be most current grades do not look at Infinite Campus please sometimes we have to go in the sink by hand if it does not sync automatically so again to not look at Infinite Campus cuz it is not yet since to the most crime rate Challenger is where you or child will see all of your classes and terms or in this case just my class in terms of seeing it in a calendar view so there's so many places where you can navigate to to find out what the expectations are again this is very self-navigating that you can go through and discover on your own if you are behind or if you want to move ahead this is a great way for you to see what the expectations are you the one at least your interview and so then go ahead and show you what mine looks like cuz I have two different classes your child's Challenger with different because there in five to six classes which will be color coded from here so this says you are over all information for all your classes of your homework assignments this is what we have so far in terms of where we are discovered quite a few we have high expectations for your students we hope that they enjoy having cost with us again distance learning it is difficult for everyone but we are trying to do
