4th Quarter Book Project DUE!!

While I'm gone Tuesday- Thursday finish the follow assignments:
  • Flip Book (150 points): Due June 4th, but need to finish before Friday

    • Prologue Page- needs to be translated into your own words and have the original prologue copied as well
    • Theme Page: You need to have at least 12 thematic statements about the themes we've discussed and textual evidence to support each statement
      • Hint! We passed LOTS of fate and grudge examples at the end of the play. Plus you should finish our conversation about what the Prince said about love killing.
    • Quote Page: These are famous lines in the play we discussed in class. You should have them done already. If you were absent- get them from someone
    • Characterization Page: You need at LEAST 6 examples (direct or indirect- it doesn't matter) for EACH character
    • Literary Devices Page: You need at LEAST 5 examples for each device (except Foil)
      • Foil: try to find these are on your own and we'll review Friday. There are 3 sets of character foils in the play, meaning, they are opposite personality characters. 
    • Act Summaries Page: All summaries must be complete- catch up if you're behind
    • Vocabulary on the Back: you should have basic Elizabethan language back there from the beginning of the unit. You also need to add the following: 
      • Jointure/Dowry
      • Hypocrite
      • Virtue
  • Add a symbolic drawing and title to the front of the flip book.

    • DO NOT MAKE THIS LAME OR OBVIOUS. No swords, poison, roses, hearts, or scenes from the play, etc.
    • Think of an object that best represents a theme or the purpose of the play, then draw that! Then, give a brief explanation of the symbol in the corner. The sub has examples for you!

    • Write about a role model in your life. Why do they inspire you and what made you start looking up to them?
    • What is a role model? Why is it important to have role models?
    • What is the American Dream? Can it be achieved? Why/why not?
    • How has social media effected schools? Provide examples from your experiences.
  • When you're finished with your essay, read your book.
HW: Finish at least 10 pages of your book. Write a mini summary of what it's about so far on a sticky note or half sheet of paper where you left off.
