AVID Write-Off 2018: Remember that EVERYONE is doing this, no matter what grade or school you're in. This is a county-wide project that AVID participates in each year. It will take until the end of the semester to finish and there's lots to learn. One thing to keep in mind is that this topic WILL have 2 sides to it (2 arguments).

- Read this article independently:
- Find and highlight the purpose or main point of the article
- Write questions and comments in the margins (if you're confused or have a comment/connection)
- Circle words that you don't know
- Figure out what level questions the subtitles are and label them
- Then, with your group (face each other) write at least two level 2 and two level 3 questions about the article. Remember that you are developing questions; therefore directives (giving directions) are not an option. Do not tell the person what to do, but rather develop a question that requires them to contemplate and develop a solution. Take your time and make sure the quality of each question is outstanding. (Do not answer the questions.)
