Description
Psychology is designed to be a year-long course.  In general, Psychology is the scientific study of mental and behavior processes.  This course is designed to introduce you to the basic theories of human behavior.  This class is truly a synthesis of theory and practice.  The scientific nature of psychology sets the foundation from which you will be able to better understand your own behavior as well as that of others.  You will be challenged to thoroughly question yourself and the world around you as you apply what you have learned about psychological theory to real life.  Furthermore, this class is based on empirical data and the scientific process.  The topics covered are different areas of psychological investigation, such as Developmental Psychology, the Neuroscience of Behavior, Memory, Learning, Personality Theory, Abnormal Psychology, and Social Psychology.  This course meets UC/CSU (Elective ā€œGā€) requirements.
