Animal Science - Veterinary Science

Students will be introduced to the agriculture field by applying biological science concepts to the practice of sustainable plant and animal production.  Additionally, students will design a Supervised Agriculture Experience project and participate in FFA.

Students will investigate different aspects of the veterinary and animal care field with a focus on animal anatomy, physiology and disease.  Additionally, students will build on their Supervised Agricultural Experience project and participate in FFA.

This course challenges students to use advanced technologies and medical treatments to maintain the health of animals.  Students will operate as a real, industry-relevant business under the name Scruffy to Fluffy in which students will develop real life experience and employable skills while providing pet grooming and canine behavior services real world clients.

In this course students will be able to demonstrate their mastery of technical skills including photography, editorial layout design, typography, infographics utilizing the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. The course work results in the current volume of the school’s yearbook.

The purpose of this course is to provide a project-based career technical training, by providing students with the technical instruction and practical experiences for aspiring video and film makers in the production of film, video, and new media projects for business and entertainment.

Course Description:

Beginning Screen Printing will introduce students to the fundamental concepts in screen-printing. Emphasis is placed on screen-printing theory and application of layout and image preparation, computer applications, stencil methods, process camera and basic screen-printing techniques. Upon completion, students will be able to describe, demonstrate, and become proficient in the process of screen-printing, as well as gain valuable skills to assist them in acquiring employment in the screen-printing industry. This is an elective course that meets Lake Elsinore Unified School District graduation requirements.

Course Description:

Textile Screen Printing builds on the skills acquired from Screen Printing I as intermediate/advanced screen printers.  In this yearlong course, the students will learn the theory and applications of screen-printing for textile use.  Emphasis is placed on preparation for multi-color reproduction, color matching, ink selection, mesh, stencil registration, the use of photosensitive emulsions, and stretching fabric onto the screen frame. At the end of this course students will be prepared to obtain a certificate from the American Screen Printing Association.
