Hello. My name is John Horne. I teach Human Anatomy and Physiology and honors Human Anatomy and Physiology at Elsinore High School. I have three children, two that graduated from EHS recently. The third is a junior. Of the two graduates, one is an artist and a musician who is working on his creative side while learning how to be his own business. The other graduate recently became a soldier in the United States Army. He is currently training as a combat engineer and will be doing airborne training next. He will be stationed at Fort Liberty in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Teaching is my second career and a passion I have had for a long time. I really enjoy teaching scientific concepts to students. In my previous career I worked in the corporate world in plant science. Before I got my masters in education and began teaching I reached the pinnacle of my plant science career. I spent a few years as the curator of horticulture at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.
I live locally and enjoy being a part of the Wildomar/Elsinore community. During the Covid lockdown of I built a wood-fired pizza oven in my backyard. It was my first attempt doing a project like this and it turned out really great. I enjoy cooking pizzas, roasting vegetables, making amazing lasagnas, and even baking bread the next day.
Please feel free to reach out to me should the need arise.
John Horne
