Hello and Welcome!

      My name is Katherine Phillips-Ortega, but my students just call me "Ms. O." I received my BA in Art Education and Teaching Credential in Secondary Art from Cal State Fullerton in 2012 and have been bringing Art to the youth ever since. Art has a unique ability to build creative, problem solving, compassionate, self-aware, and resilient humans. It nurtures all the characteristics I believe shape the humans we want to lead and be part of our community. So, I'm here to bring the creative spirit to everyone who walks into my classroom. I've had the pleasure to bring Art in many different mediums to my students. I've taught everything from drawing, painting, 3D building, photography, digital art, yearbook, to ceramics (a personal favorite), and more! 

 

Here at EHS, I am the Beginning and Advanced Ceramics teacher and I'm excited to be a member of the Tiger Team. I've always loved ceramics. I believe it taps into something innately human in us that we've had since we were children, back when we were brave and full of wonder. I can't wait for you to try it. So... let's get started!
