Mr. Merlo

I am excited to welcome you and your student to the new school year at Elsinore High School! I have been a proud member of the Lake Elsinore Unified School District since 2006, and I am passionate about helping students discover the beauty and practicality of mathematics.

About the Courses I am teaching this year:

Algebra 1 (periods 1, 3, & 6): This year, students will develop a solid foundation in algebraic concepts. We will cover topics such as solving equations, working with functions, graphing, and understanding inequalities. My goal is to help students become confident problem solvers who can apply their knowledge in real-world situations.

Geometry (periods 2 & 5): In Geometry, students will explore shapes, sizes, and the properties of space. We will delve into topics like congruence, similarity, and the Pythagorean theorem. Through hands-on activities and real-life applications, I aim to make geometry both engaging and relevant.

My Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that every student has the potential to excel in math, and my classroom is a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities. I encourage open communication, and I am always here to help students who may need extra support. I value the partnership between home and school. Please feel free to reach out to me via email if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress. I look forward to a fantastic year of learning and growth.

Warm regards,

Mr. Merlo
