My name is Matthew Purkiss, and I have been a Spanish teacher and football coach at EHS for the last 19 years. The purpose of this course is to lay the foundations of learning a second language, while also gaining new perspectives by studying the cultures of others. Learning a second language will open doors in your life that you never expected. It will allow you to communicate with millions of people who speak the language, offer you new and exciting career opportunities, and make traveling the world much easier and more enjoyable. However, it will not be easy!! It will take your hard work and dedication. If you believe you can do it, and you are willing to work at it, you will be able to achieve the goal of becoming bilingual.
