Welcome to Miss Jefferson's page! Teaching AVID, AP Macro Economics, AP Human Geography and US History is a blast! hello and high school's back-to-school night my name is Jefferson and I meant that says here to maximize academic achievement and personal growth for all students and their mission statement is Elsinore High School is to provide a safe caring environment that encourages students to take intellectual and academic creative that prepare them to graduate and compete in that diverse Global Society we have to print Segall. Elsinore High School Miss Sarah Arredondo and this is Robin Hamilton principles of Elsinore High School along with mr. Stevens Miss pedretti and mr. Nicholson who act as assistant principals you can reach all of them by accessing our Elsinore web page and by dialing their extensions here is my personal information I am a history social science teacher with Elsinore and I've been here for 13 years I also graduated from Elsinore I'm a lady tiger for life this is my current email and my current room number is 728 some of the things that I left are to travel I love art I love maps and I love meeting new and fabulous people the picture on the left is a woman I met with her daughter in Guatemala the picture on the bottom is the Chihuly glass garden in Seattle Washington I am in the Los Angeles Museum of Modern Art and then above is a world map some courses that I teach at Elsinore High School are added 10 United States AP macroeconomics and AP Human Geography I am also a CO coordinator for our AVID program with mr. Ryan Stevens and visor for Habitat for Humanity in my Avid 10 class we will Center on Wicker strategies and projects throughout the year have attend is designed to be centered on students and their sense of self activities include goal-setting finding Pathways that for them for Success exploring a through G courses that lead to success and how we can be stronger and academics our personal lives and social groups superpier tutors Master collaborate and we'll expand our grit organization study skills and test-taking during their Avid 10 school year and we have to visit colleges this year at State University San Bernardino Cal Baptist and UC Riverside unfortunately we have not been told that we can attend these field trips yet for the 2020-21 school year I also teach United States history following the common core standards students will gain an understanding of American history from the colonial. Through present day United States history is High School graduation requirements and is one of the best classes on campus taking notes through Zoom meetings and where they will also be uploaded on canvas a my history expectations will be to deeper meaning and understanding and historical eras and for students to know that studying history is a way to learn the future we will use primary and secondary documents we will study the role of president look at women throughout history and explore industrialization and social movements and how we will become the richest country in the world I also teach AP macroeconomics this course examines the l'economie and satisfies the economics high school requirement we will study five units basic economic Concepts GDP and inflation fiscal policy unemployment rate monetary policy and the Federal Reserve + trade and economic markets our AP test is scheduled for the second week in May and register and put away money the test that come up quickly in May 18th code is available on campus and a message was sent out to your student in AP Human Geography where is it and why they're it's a study of systemic patterns and processes that have shaped the human understanding of our organization of Earth and the wonderful people in students will employ geospatial. skill study human organizations of space that span Global to local and learn how to have steady we will study pop Haitian cultural patterns and processes organizations of space industrial and economic development and land-use test for AP human Geo is also second week in May and I require my freshman to attend 180 Workshop UCR Readiness UCR genus is a AP ready program to help students close the gap here are two dates to remember there's one at on October 10th and another one on November 7th later on in the year there is also one in December 6th the fight of my students couldn't choose one of these two dates first that would be great I hope you enjoyed meeting and our classes please feel free to reach me anytime you need additional you have additional questions and I would be happy to answer them have a great evening good night
