Spanish 1 (Period 05)

Beinvenidos a la clase de español de la Señora Saravia.  Welcome to Spanish 1. I am looking forward in meeting with each and every one of you as you begin to study this Romance Language.  I am confident that at the end of the school year, you will notice an improvement in your listening, reading, writing and oral skills.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students learn to function in common daily setting for which they have rehearsed; understand learned words and phrases in authentic texts (oral/written); deal with discrete elements of life; comprehend and produce oral and written words and phrases; comprehend and be understood by highly-sympathetic natives. The course meets University of California and California State University system requirements for foreign language.  The class will be conducted primarily in the target language. 

 COURSE OBJECTIVES/STANDARDS 

The main objective of this course includes:  refining students’ overall technological proficiency, developing and refining students; linguistic proficiency in basic Spanish and promoting cultural sensitivity.  This course has benchmarks following the National Foreign Language Standards and aligned to the Foreign Language Framework for California Public Schools.
