Concurrent Enrollment- Take College Classes For Free in Highschool

High School Student Enrollment Information

If you’d like to get a jump on your college education, Mt. San Jacinto College can provide you the opportunity to begin your college education while completing your high school diploma. MSJC’s Concurrent Enrollment program will give you a head start on your chosen major or vocational program. However, because you remain primarily a high school student, you must follow a set of guidelines and meet specific qualifications before you’re able to enroll as a special admit student.

Student guidelines are available below. Meeting the criteria does not necessarily guarantee admission. All qualified and eligible students are encouraged to apply and will be individually evaluated before being accepted to MSJC.

Concurrent enrollment students:

  • Must be in high school* (summer after 8th grade counts)
  • Follow the matriculation guidelines and processes (see steps Below)
  • Have a cumulative 2.0 GPA verified by official high school transcripts for vocational courses, including classes in automotive, computer science, and multimedia
  • Must turn their MSJC Transcript into their counselor upon receiving a final grade in the course

Meet with a counselor at your high school for course selection and placement review and to begin filling out your School Parent Agreement form (SPA).  The SPA will be available as a link here in mid-October for Spring 2023.  The SPA must be signed by the student, parent, school principal and school counselor.

Review the steps below for information on when and how to submit your School Parent Agreement form to MSJC.

Special Admit Part-time High School Students

All part-time high school students have waived the California Enrollment Fee for their course(s), but additional fees may need to be paid for by the student (i.e. Transportation Service Fee, Guidance Testing Fee, etc.). AB2364 also waives non-resident fees for applicable part-time high school students. In the event that a high school student is allowed to enroll as a full-time student (12 units or more), all enrollment fees will be applied for the total amount of units enrolled. In the event that a high school student is enrolled as full-time, but chooses to revert back to a part-time status, all applicable fee waivers will be put back in place.
